In the summer of 2021, members of Displaid’s founding teams, then electrical engineering students at École de Technologie Supérieure de Montréal (ÉTS), launched the project. The initiative emerged during an entrepreneurship course, where they identified a crucial need: the crying lack of suitable tools for monitoring patients suffering from chronic illnesses. The motivation behind the venture was personal, as one of the co-founders’ relatives was suffering from advanced kidney failure, requiring three dialysis sessions a week.
