In the summer of 2021, Jonathan Boudreau, then a student in electrical engineering at the École de Technologie Supérieure in Montreal (ÉTS), laid the foundation for Displaid. This initiative came to life during an entrepreneurship course where Jonathan and his fellow students identified a significant problem: the lack of suitable tools for patients suffering from kidney failure. The motivation behind this venture was personal, as one of the co-founders had a close relative who experienced the hardships of advanced kidney failure, requiring three dialysis sessions per week.
